10 Ways To Improve Your Vision

Over the past years, there has been a marked increase in the number of people who wear glasses and contact lenses. This can be put down to drastically increased computer usage both at home and at work, and increased TV watching. Good news for opticians around the world – bad news for us. I hear complaints about the eyes related problems almost daily, some people have the dry eyes and must use the eye drops daily, others have excess fluid in the eyes which creates fuzzy vision and difficulties reading. This article provides techniques that help improve the health of your eyes and prevent developing eye-related illnesses.

Your eyes need regular exercise and supply of energy in order to be healthy, just like any other muscle in the body. Your eyes may eventually give up on you and you will need glasses or contact lenses. This doesn’t have to be the case if you regularly take care of your eyes. In this article, I will show you how you can care for your eyes naturally so you can have great vision at any age.

If you start wearing glasses or contact lenses your eyesight will only get worse over time rather than get better as your eyes will get used to the new lenses and need even stronger lenses to function properly. Everybody who wears glasses and contacts will tell you their eyes have grad u-ally got worse over time.

Conditions such as Chronic Dry Eyes, optic neuritis, glaucoma are often associated with chronic health problems. The imbalance in the body can manifest in the eyes, just as the health of the eyes is frequently an indicator of the illness or imbalance in the particular organ or other location in the body.

Puffiness and Dark Circles?

Puffiness in the eye area is either caused by a pool of liquid or a pool of mucus both of which are caused by issues with the kidneys. The type caused by pools of liquid is often caused by excessive liquid intake overworking the kidneys with frequent urination, leading to inflammation.

The second type, caused by accumulation of mucus and fat directly correlates to built-up mucus and fat in and around the kidneys and other organs in that region of the body. The consumption of mucus and fat-containing foods such as dairy products, meat, poultry, sugar, refined grains, and oils. Reducing or eliminating these foods from one’s diet will not only reduce or eliminate puffy eyelids and eye bags but will also correct the internal cause. Regular detoxification efforts will also be beneficial.

Dark Circles under the eyes typically indicate the problems or disorders with the kidneys, and adrenal and gonad hormones. These problems can stem from issues with reproductive or excretory functions which are often caused by the excessive consumption of salty, roasted, baked, or dried foods. A yellowish tone in the eye area is directly related to an over-functioning liver and gallbladder.

A gray discoloration can not only indicate an issue with the kidneys, but also with the lungs, endocrine and lymph systems, and reproductive system. These issues can be caused by excessive ingestion of yang foods such as salt, dairy, animal fats, and meat. It can also indicate a lack of oxygen in the body and is often present with smokers.

Poor Eye Health Indicates Dysfunction in Organs

My approach to treating eye related problems is to correct the underlined energy systems that support the eyes and to promote the blood circulation to the eyes. I have used these techniques on myself and my clients for many years to correct a wide range of eye problems. If your notice that your vision suddenly gets worse, it can be energetically related to the dysfunction in the Kidney, Liver, or Stomach meridians.

Holding Acupressure Sedating, Strengthening and Control points for Kidney, Liver, or Stomach meridians helps to balance many eye related issues. Your energy medicine practitioner can determine if these meridians are over or under energized and balance them.

When you are treated for an eye condition with using the methods described here, any underlying imbalances that are attributing to your symptoms will be reduced. These techniques can be helpful in treating the following conditions:

  • Glaucoma
  • Floaters
  • Cataracts
  • Eye Allergies
  • Macular Degeneration Optic Atrophy
  • Night Blindness
  • Chronic Dry Eyes
  • Tired or Twitching Eyes Bad Night Vision
  • Circles Under Eyes

Natural Ways to Improve Eye Health

There are many Acupuncture Points located around the eyes that promote eye health. These points bring energy and blood to the eyes and allow nourishing the tissue around the eyes.

Visual information from the eyes is processed in the occipital area of the brain, located in the back of the head. Bladder meridian passes through the eyes as well as the occipital (back) part of the brain. Activating points of the Bladder meridian is very effective in relieving the painful symptoms. These points are located on both sides of the face. Apply a deep pressure with thumbs, index, or middle fingers of both hands for 2-4 minutes:

Screen Shot 2017-06-06 at 1.31.03 PMBladder 1 (BL-1) – This point is located in the inner corner of each eye. This point brings energy and blood to the eyes and can be used to treat eye pain as well as other eye related illnesses such as glaucoma, night blindness, early-stage cataracts, conjunctivitis and blurred vision.

Bladder 2 (BL-2) – This point is located at the inner end of the eyebrow. Some of the indications to use this point include twitching of the eyelids, glaucoma, frontal headache, blurring or failing of vision, excessive tearing, redness, swelling, pain of the eyes, dimness of vision, visual dizziness, night blindness, headache following alcohol intoxication, and color blindness.

HN-4 – Located in the hollow at the midpoint of the eyebrow, directly above the pupil. It is used for eye strain, acute conjunctivitis, cloudiness of the cornea, frontal headache, floaters, myopia, redness, visual obstruction, swelling and pain of the eyes, twitching of the eyelids, and ptosis.

Triple Warmer 23 (TW-23) – The Triple Warmer 23 located in the hollow at the outside end of the eyebrows. This point is used for all eye and facial problems including headaches, redness and pain of the eye, blurring of vision, twitching of the eyelids, Optic nerve atrophy, and blurred vision.

Screen Shot 2017-06-06 at 1.31.13 PMGall Bladder 1 (GB-1) – Located on the outside corner of the eye. This point is used to brighten the eyes as well as for headaches, redness and pain of the eyes, failing or blurring of vision, photophobia, dry, itchy eyes, early-stage cataracts, and conjunctivitis.

HN-7 – Located below the eye, approximately one-fourth the distance from the outer to the center side of the eye. Used for all types of eye diseases, inflammation of the optic nerve, atrophy of the optic nerve, glaucoma, nearsightedness, and macular degeneration.

Stomach 1 (ST 1) – With the eyes looking straight forward, this point is located directly below the pupil, between the eyeball and the eye socket. This is the main point for all eye problems, conjunctivitis, night blindness, facial paralysis, and excessive tearing.

Exercises To Strengthen Eye Muscles

Blinking

Blinking is an often overlooked yet simple way to keep your eyes fresh and being able to focus longer. Computer users and television watchers tend to blink less, especially when they are intently focused on something.

After you have done this for two minutes, mentally take note of how your eyes feel, are they strained, relaxed, tired.

Whenever you blink your eyes are going into a brief period of darkness which helps to keep your eyes fresh and discharges previous information. This also helps to reduce eye strain.

Palming

Palming is done to relieve stress around the eyes and as a way to relax your eyes while taking a break. It gives you the opportunity to rest your mind and your eyes for a few minutes at a time. Palming

brings increased flow of energy to your eyes and balances the brain circuits that receive visual stimuli

  • Make yourself comfortable whilst leaning forward on a desk or with your elbows resting on your knees. Close your eyes.
  • Place your two palms over your eyes, your fingers on your forehead and the heel of your hands resting on your cheekbones.
  • If possible, extend your thumbs to cover the temples. Cross the baby fingers over the 3rd eye or cross one hand over the other.

Tracing Figure 8

Screen Shot 2017-06-06 at 1.50.20 PMThis is to exercise your eye muscles and increase their flexibility.

  • Imagine a giant horizontal figure of eight in front of you about 10 feet in front of you and mentally turn it on its side.
  • Trace it one way for a few minutes and then the other way for a few minutes.
  • Try figure-8-ting both eyes with fingers of one hand using a ‘Metabolizing 8’ that meets at the center. This helps the eyes to metabolize light, stimulation, and stress as well as increases coordination and communication between the eyes and the brain.

Taping

Screen Shot 2017-06-06 at 1.57.53 PMTap your eyelids to brings energies into motion and resets the eye’s signaling to the brain.

  • Lay the finger over an eye and gently tap on that finger with the other hand.
  • Do the same on the other eye.

This helps with eye fatigue. You may also tap along the sutures of the skull and all over the scalp and temples to help release the muscles that support the eyes. End by pulling the ears.

Zooming

  • Sit in a comfortable position.
  • Stretch out your arm and extend your thumb out.
  • Focus on your thumb as your arm is outstretched.
  • Bring your thumb closer to you, focusing all the time, until your thumb is about 3 inches in front of your face.
  • Move your thumb away again until your arm is fully outstretched.

Do this for a few minutes at a time.

Essential Nutrients For Your Eyes

Lutein and Zeaxanthin

Lutein and Zeaxanthin compounds are carotenoids related to beta-carotene. They are both found in large quantities in the lens and retina of the eyes. Their function is to protect the eyes from damage caused by free radicals, which can interact with and break down healthy tissue. Lutein and Zeaxanthin help protect the eyes by filtering high-energy blue light protecting underlying cell layers from potential light damage. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are found in yellow and orange fruits & vegetables, dark green, leafy vegetables and egg yolks.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

Alpha Lipoic Acid increases glutathione levels in the body. It is a naturally produced antioxidant that protects against cataracts in the eye and helps dissolve toxic substances in the liver.

Vitamins

Vitamin A helps prevent night blindness, stops the formation of cataracts, and may prevent blindness from macular degeneration.

Vitamin C helps the eye’s production of aqueous humor and the reformation of the cornea. It also helps to reduce the risk of cataracts.

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant shown to prevent cataracts and helps prevent macular degeneration.

Vitamin B12 helps the eye shield protein in the lens.

The Daily Energy Routine

If you are new to Energy Medicine, the Daily Energy Routine is the place to start. Unlike treatments that offer pills or surgery, Energy Medicine focuses on the entire body as a system. Before doing more specific treatments, Energy Medicine practitioners can help people get their body’s overall energies into a strong and healthy flow.

Over the years, Donna Eden have designed a “Daily Energy Routine” that combines the most potent techniques we know that are able to help the greatest number of people to stimulate each of the vital energy systems and bring them into harmony and balance. These are the methods you can use to strengthen and balance your own energies. There is much you can do for yourself through the Daily Energy Routine. We propose that you dedicate about 10 minutes each day to this. That is all that is necessary to begin to make a difference. Five minutes for the Daily Energy Routine and five minutes to experiment with repeating some of the techniques and using additional Energy Medicine methods available.

The Daily Energy Routine takes less than 10 minutes and can transform your life. This routine allows you, without knowing what’s stuck or where, to balance your energy system. I have heard pretty amazing stories of lives changed just by consistently doing this routine.

Are you still grieving?

Grief

Thousands of people live with the unprocessed grief triggered by some events in their life that happened long time ago. They are unaware about the causes of their sudden bursts of anger or long-term sadness. In this post I will uncover the phases of grief so you can recognize your own feelings and process them with ease.

Grief is hard to diagnose emotion that can remain silent for many years. It can quietly live in your body, creating invisible physical and emotional scars. It can destroy your relationships, your family, and your career.

Grief is not that obvious comparing to other flashy emotions such as fear or anger, which we come across almost every day. Because is so silent, it is  difficult for many people to identify with it, process it, and heal it.

Grief is usually activated and felt by most people during the Fall season when nature is letting go of the what’s unused and unneeded in order to prepare for the cold winter and hibernation. This season helps nature and humans to transition into the state of inactivity and metabolic slowdown.

Based on Five Elements model of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Fall season is associated with Metal element which governs Large Intestine and Lungs. Metal element allows to efficiently let go of what is not necessary, and store only what is needed for winter.

Because Metal element is associated with letting go, many people are grieving about something that happened the past during this time of the year.

Fall is a time of reflection on the progress made through the seasons, and a time to be thankful for an abundant harvest. It is also a time to decide what is needed to be stored and what should be discarded.

Grief can cause a block in your self-expression, or lack inspiration and integrity. Take a look at these symptoms and see if you have any of these tendencies:

Symptoms of Grieving

  • Your Integrity turns into hypocrisy
  • Your good relationships become authoritative punishment
  • Your sense of structure becomes rigidity
  • Your logic is turns into self-doubt
  • You demand perfection from others
  • You are unable to let go of your past losses
  • You are unable to accept change and have high expectations about others
  • You have skin problems
  • Your breathing is shallow and short
  • You are not inspired by anything
  • You avoid social connections
  • You try to keep yourself busy all the time
  • You are a workaholic

The Yang organ associated with the Metal Element is the Large Intestine and correlations of the inability to ‘let go’ are quite obvious. The skin is correlated with the Lung energetic system in Chinese medicine. Many of the symptoms will often worsen in the late fall including breathing difficulties, skin problems, and digestive disorders.

Lung and Large Intestine meridians and organs are affected if you have a history of unprocessed grief in your life. Your body will reveal the symptoms through specific physical illnesses. In this post I will focus of the phases of Grief, which can cause many physical symptoms and create illnesses in your body.

What is Grief?

Grief is a normal response to loss. It can be the loss of a home, family pet, job, business, relationship, marriage or a love one. Grief is necessary to process the emotional wounds and heal. It is only when we are unable to move through the grieving process that grief manifests into illness.

It’s important to understand that Energy Medicine doesn’t not mask the emotion of grieving, but helps to ease the natural process of grieving.

Grieving Phases

Grief can be very painful and often confused with many other emotions that may seem erratic. The length of time we grieve depends on many factors and can be weeks, months, and years. If the pain associated with grief does not begin to ease in a matter of months, than the person who is grieving is likely stuck in one or more of these phases of grief.

Emotional Freeze Phase

This is an initial shock period just after a loss associated with anxiety and confusion. Loss of appetite is a very common during this phase. You may feel that life is unfair and what happened is too shocking and too unexpected.

Denial Phase

Denial can happen right after the loss. It ‘s a strategy that our subconscious mind develops in order to ease the pain. This is the first level at which people become stuck in the emotion of grief. Many people who have lost a loved one will hold on to their belonging for years, somewhere in the mind thinking they will return one day.

Anger Phase

Anger can cause a turbulent period of outbursts that should be experienced in a safe and private setting. However episodes of anger often come up in the most inappropriate situations, followed by emotional pain, guilt, and regret. People can direct this anger at themselves, others, God, or just life in general. Based on Chinese medicine, prolonged anger is especially destructive to Liver that contributes to many physical illnesses.

Guilt Phase

“It was my fault…”, “I could have done something different…”, “I should have predicted and prevented this situation…”.

Those types of questions we ask ourselves when we are in the Guilt phase.

Guilt is a lowest frequency emotion, which blocks the progress to personal growth. Conscious meditations and affirmations are especially helpful in dealing with guilt.

Sadness Phase

After the anger is exhausted and guilt is accepted, sadness and hopelessness comes. In this phase people want to stay alone, become inactive and want cry.

This is also a phase when some people start reaching out for anti-depressant medications because they are unable to function in a real world and deal with basic challenges of life.

However, using anti-depressants for sadness due to grief can be counterproductive because they suppress a natural emotional process and block our ability to heal and move forward. Energy Healing, Aromatherapy, Yoga, and Past Life Integration are safe alternatives that help you move though this phase.

Inspiration Phase

Many spiritual masters teach us that we must acknowledge our losses, and accept life with all its new settings. This is the time when we must learn how to move on make efforts to find new job and new friends, participate in new activities, and find additional outlets for a our passion. Optimistic activities such as painting, singing, playing music, or anything that inspires you and moves your soul, greatly help during this phase.

Growth Phase

Learning from the past can help us grow emotionally and spiritually. While loss can be painful, it can also provide us with deep awareness about important things in our life, teach us about gratitude, and bring wisdom. It also helps us be more compassionate and understanding of other people. During this phase we want to share our experiences with others and help them grow.

We must actually experience each stage of grief in order to move on with a healthy and happy life. Simply avoiding the process will in effect lengthen the amount of time that is necessary to grieve.

In my next post I will share with you 7 Profound Tools that help you to move though all phases of grief with more ease.

EM101 also gives an introduction to meridians, one of the mainstays of EEM. Meridians are the rivers of energy that bathe and vitalize our body and it’s systems. Ways to work with and balance two key meridians, Triple Warmer and Spleen, are highlighted in this class, as well as additional techniques for managing stress.

EM102 picks up where EM101 leaves off and offers important techniques for moving energy, handling pain, and testing substances using energy testing. Using this cornerstone of EEM, you’ll learn how to dialogue with the body’s energies to determine energetic harmony before ingesting food and substances by using the Spleen Meridian energy test, as well as three easy ways to energy test yourself. Just like EM101, this class is full of practice, practice, practice, but it ends with each participant experiencing an EEM mini-session that balances and calms their energy.

BONUSES

BONUS 1:

ENERGY BALANCING SELF-CARE ESSENTIALS KIT ($50 VALUE)

Stress Away Keychan  All the chakra colors are used in this key chain – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and white/clear. This key chain has a unique combination of different gemstones representing all seven chakracolors – with variations of pure light and dark colors and the addition of quartz beads for extra healing and unconditional love. The frequency impulse the each gemstone allows the energy system to respond individually and uniquely. Each chakra receives a lively yet gentle invitation to wake up, calm down, expand or settle back inside depending on the energetic needs of the particular person. Carrying this key chain can bring healing, energy and renewal.

Pain Relieving Magnet Magnets are used to move stagnant energy and to relieve pain. Spinning a magnet over the problematic area is helpful to reduce pain and to move electromagnetic energy in a specific area. Spinning a magnet over the beginning and ending points of each meridian can increase circulation, bring alertness, and removes pain.

Energy Clearing Gemstones  Semi-precious stones have their own vibrational frequency, when they are worn or placed close to a person the vibration from the gemstone aligns with the person and raises their personal vibrational frequency. This is a very uplifting experience and often brings great life changes. Each type of crystal brings specific healing benefits to certain areas of life.

BONUS 2:

30-MINUTE RELAXATION FACIAL RAFFLE TICKET ($45 VALUE)

(Only offered at the RED BANK location)

This facial is for someone who is short on time or needs more of a mini-relaxation treatment, as plenty of time will be spent on the face, neck and shoulder area.  You’ll receive a double-cleanse, exfoliation and moisturizer to complete your treatment. Your treatment session will be performed at the Red Bank location.

BONUS 3:

ENTER TO WIN A COMPLEMENTARY ENERGY BALANCING SESSION ($150 VALUE)

Energy Balancing session bring disturbed energies back to a state of balance and harmony. Energetic corrections will generally consist of various forms of light or deeper touch and of movement of hands within your body’s energy field.  During the session your body will establish new energy patterns that optimize body, mind, and spirit. Reinforcing these patterns through the practice of energy exercises at home will reinforce, maintain, and extend the benefits you receive in the sessions. Energy Healing promotes balance and flow in the body’s electromagnetic and subtle energies, and enhances general health and well-being. The session is to from 60 to 75 minutes long.

BONUS 4:

One randomly selected participant will receive the following:

  • BIOFIELD BODY SCAN with GDV CAMERA ($99 Value).
  • BIOFIELD SCAN REPORT generated by the GDV Camera. Report contains detail analysis of 14 meridians, 7 chakras, all organs, and systems. You may take a printed report with you.
  • PERSONAL BIORHYTHM CHART. Contains your physical, emotional, and intellectual biorhythms. This information is can be used when scheduling specific activities or events according to your body’s personal bio-cycle.

 WHAT IS BIOFIELD SCAN?

The BIOFIELD SCAN is performed with the GDV (“Gas Discharge Visualization”) device that measures bioelectric energy from your fingertips and interprets the data according to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Biowell device utilizes a weak, electrical current applied to the fingertips for less than a millisecond. The body’s response to this stimulus is the formation of a variation of an “electron cloud” composed of light energy photons. The electronic “glow” of this discharge (invisible to the human eye) is captured by an optical camera system and then translated into a digital computer file… continue reading….

The GDV technology is embraced by The Russian Ministry of Health as a Medical diagnostic tool.  More than 300 doctors, practitioners and researchers benefit from using this technology worldwide…

How GDV Technology Measures Your Energy Fields

Screen Shot 2015-08-24 at 7.55.15 PMGDV Camera, called Biowell, captures the human energy field by measuring the electronic “glow” from the fingers of each hand.

It utilizes a weak electrical current applied to the fingertips for less than a millisecond.

Using 55 parameters, data is converted to a unique “photonic profile” and compared to the database of hundreds of thousands of people.

After processing is completed, the program creates a model of the human energy field based on principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Aurveda and Western Medicine.

Biowell program evaluates the energy reserves in all organs and systems and presents it in tables, graphs, and diagrams (see examples below).

Biowell can also measure the real time effects of various foods or supplements on your body. This helps to determine what food causes allergic reactions and what food is in harmony with your body.

The device has an attachment that performs environmental readings of indoors and outdoors and measures the energy of space depending on specific physical or mental activity (for more information about the energy of space, read this book).

Here is an example of a Biofield scan of energy fields before and after application of the energy balancing techniques. In this example I applied the Triple Warmer/Spleen balancing protocol with intention to calm an overactive immune system.

9-11-2015 11-36-51 AMTriple Warmer is a meridian that governs your fight and flight system and mobilizes your body for a stress response  When you are under prolonged stress, it drains the body’s vital energy resources (as shown in the first image.)
This person’s energy dramatically improved after the balancing protocol (second image). This protocol is taught in the EEM101/102 classes.

The next image shows the change in chakra alignment before and after an energy healing session. Note that during this session I didn’t touch the client, I was only working in her energy field.

These examples clearly demonstrate how quickly the body responds to environmental changes and healing interventions.
Your body is constantly trying to adapt to today’s environmental changes…  But many people are unable to keep up with this fast pace. This causes their body to develop energetic imbalances that can affect them physically and emotionally.

We are in need of tools to help your body adapt and thrive in the modern world. The environment is not going to change. So we must train the body to adapt so it can function optimally.
